The test is called single colour digital PCR.

Group of scientists from Stanford University in the U.S. have come up with a highly sensitive, precise and low-cost cancer detection blood test.

The test can quickly detect the growth and effect of the disease in the body of the victim. The test is called single colour digital PCR. The test is basically detecting genetic mutations caused by cancer cells into the blood in the DNA. The test needs just need a fraction of a tube of blood and are capable of detecting three mutation bearing molecules in a single reaction. It has the capability to uniquely recognise a particular type of cancer specific to the victim.

For cancer detection usually, full body imaging is required. Also for monitoring patient’s tumours, only few blood tests only for few types of cancers are available. The newly developed molecules testing is quite efficient as it will check the patient in his every visit and keep track about cancer’s growth and spread in the patient’s body easily. Another advantage is that this method doesn’t rely on pre-amplification that have high chances of errors and biases.

The new method will prove easier, efficient, less complex and quicker.
