A replica of a huge tortoise attracts many tourists
If you are in Navi Mumbai and happen to visit an amusement park at Kopri Village in Vashi then you can't miss taking a selfie with a replica of a huge tortoise. On the lines of Old Woman’s shoehouse at Malabar Hill, a replica of tortoise is constructed at the park. Apart from this replica, the park also has a separate seating arrangement for senior citizens and parking facilities.
After starting the work on this amusement park in the year 2014 it was recently completed and will be formally inaugurated soon. The park is spread over 5,000 sq mt area and civic body has spent Rs 4.5 crore for this project.
As per a report published in Indian Express, a civic official said, “We proposed the tortoise replica on the lines of the Old Woman’s Shoehouse in Mumbai. Though not exactly similar, we have constructed it to make it another tourist attraction in the satellite town.”
The official further informed that the replica is constructed with ferro-cement for quality and stability.
He added, “There is an internal stairway inside the tortoise for people to move. They can reach up to its mouth and can have a view of the park. It will be a great experience for people visiting it.”
The length of the tortoise replica is 23 metres and its height is 6.40 metres.
