India had its first human library in Hyderabad, people are now participating as human books by sharing their experiences with the listeners.
After India had its first human library in Hyderabad, it is Delhi’s turn now! Delhi will have its first Human Library event on June 18.
The concept is about borrowing people for 20 mins and hearing their stories to get a wider and different perspective. The event will take place at Innov8 Co-working space in Connaught Place, from 2 pm to 7 pm. People can choose from ‘11 Human Books’, which are nothing but choosing from 11 people from whom you wish to hear the experience. The entire event is voluntarily organized, as people got connected to each other over Facebook and listened to their experiences and stories they wanted to share. Later they met people personally who wished to share stories to others and create awareness about what they wanted to share.
The ‘Human Library’ concept started out of Copenhagen, Denmark which aimed at bringing about change in societies’ way of thinking through conversation with other people. So the concept is that a ‘book’ can talk back and converse with the participants thereby clarifying their doubts they encounter in the story. Thus people can understand the content quite well.
The event is expecting a footfall of about 500 to 600 people.
