Gujarat government makes Gujarati compulsory up to class 8th
According to the Gujarat Goverment's new plan, Gujarati language will be ade compulsory in schools till class 8th.
Different boards including the Central Board of Secondary Education will have Gujarati as a compulsory subject.
During a day long event, Chintan Shibir in Gandhinagar, Chief minister gave a statement and said, " With a view to reestablishing the importance of mother-tongue, Rupani hinted that from the next academic year the Gujarati language could be made compulsory up to the standard 8 irrespective of the board including CBSE, ICSE and other boards.
Rupani also spoke on boosting the quality of education at primary and high school levels in the state. He further stated that with proper utilization of resources, allocation of funds and human resources the state government is determined to make the government schools' education standard at par with private schools and SFI.
