Noble initiative by the State Government of Bengaluru benefits the society
The ban on plastic bags has been announced in the Bengaluru city last year yet the state government has recovered 1 lakh kg of plastic till date and also has collected a fine of Rs 1.67 crore.
Garbage disposal is actually a big issue nowadays in all the cities and government also is planning to take some measures regarding the same.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has announced plans to use the recovered 1 lakh kg of plastic garbage in the building of roads. BBMP has been using VG-10 and VG-30 types of bitumen. The idea is to mix the plastic with bitumen which in a way will not only give strength but will also increase the longevity of the roads said the officer of BBMP.
He also added 6 years ago Bangalore University's Jnana Bharathi Campus roads were built using plastic waste.
The noble initiative by the State Government of Bengaluru truly will benefit the society as a whole, but we individuals are an important part of this society and we say No to Plastic.
