Pune Zilla Parishad launches "One Book Scheme" for school children.
With shoulders loaded with heavy school bags, school children were having a tough time going to school.
To relief this baggage, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pune Zilla Parishad made the announcement of the "One Book Scheme".
According to this scheme children have to carry a single all in one textbook for all six subjects. The main reason for the burden is the number of textbooks and this scheme would benefit the children reducing their bag's weight.
After some brainstorming, I found that managing the number of selected chapters to be taught in a month and condensing them into one book was a viable solution as they would then have to carry only one book. Hence, this one-month trial was launched in 26 schools and honestly, the feedback has been much more overwhelming than I expected,” said Mandhare.
