Narendra Modi thanked Tata centre for treating number of patients in affordable healthcare.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi released the Platinum Jubilee Milestone book on Tata Memorial Centre, at his residence in New Delhi.
Ratan Tata, in his welcome address, thanked the Prime Minister for his support, cooperation and vision towards affordable healthcare and cancer research.
Addressing the audience of doctors and students of Tata Memorial Centre via video conferencing, the Prime Minister hailed invaluable contribution of Tata family towards humanitarian services and social responsibilities, particularly in the field of cancer cure, care and research. Speaking on the occasion, Modi recollected the words that he read in the book about how Meherbai Tata while going to abroad for her cancer treatment asked Dorabji Tata about how can common man be treated of cancer as the treatment is expensive and later Dorabji Tata then started Tata Memorial Centre for the treatment of common man. Modi also thanked Tata family for their contribution to treat many patients in need of treatment.
