A bio startup by two innovative minds.
To inculcate love for animals and nature, two friends Sanjeev Pednekar, a herpetologist and conservationist, and Karthik Prabhu, a trained conservationist came together to create a child-friendly park. Prani -The Pet Sanctuary brings children closer to animals and nature and helps them develop a friendly bond with them.
Prani has animals rescued from various parts of the state and each animal has a story to tell. All the animals have suffered exploitation at various levels and have survived which shows their spirit to fight back. A lot of parents have sent their children to Prani to learn life lessons and share their children's success stories about their experience.
A parent Pooja Hrishikesh said: “Prani has changed my child’s temperament. My son has gained a lot of confidence working with animals. The hands-on learning he gets at the sanctuary surpasses the learning he gets from his textbooks.”
Prani offers various programmes for the children which include therapeutic lessons to the educative ones and develop a child who could not sympathize but also empathise and connect with wildlife and nature.
