Banana is a very common fruit available across the world. Banana is a very famous and an important fruit of India. Used for many purposes, it has great significance in religious ceremonies. It is also used to make mouthwatering desserts like sheera, kheer, malpua, halwa and so on. Bananas, when raw are also used widely for making wafers, kebabs and famous Keralite dishes namely Avial and Kalan. Bananas are also a part of the North Eastern India’s traditional breakfast recipe.  Moreover, Banana has very good nutritional value and is very good as a munching snack whenever you are hungry. The study says that eating two bananas can give you the stamina to exercise for one and half hour. This is because banana has immense vitamins and minerals that boost your energy levels. It has the following vitamins and minerals: Potassium, Vitamin A, Vitamin B (in forms of Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Folic acid); Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Calcium, Iron, Zinc and Magnesium. One banana has 12 percent and 22 percent of our potassium and vitamin B6 requirement respectively. Also it provides 17 percent of calcium for body requires.

Salts lead to high blood pressure problems. Bananas play an important role in regulating blood pressure as it has low salt and high potassium content. These conditions are very conducive to deal with blood pressure problems and balance them. Also magnesium is good for curbing high blood pressures and it is present in bananas. It is also advised to increase the intake of potassium rather than lowering salt intake for regulating blood pressure and bananas can help you achieve that!

Banana has high fiber content and we are aware of the benefits of fibrous foods on our bowels and digestion. Also as per Ayurveda, the sweet taste is said to bring the feeling of heaviness and sour taste stimulates the digestive juices; and banana has both sweet and sour taste. Bananas top the list of people who are working on weight loss. Along with being high in vitamins and minerals, they have low carbohydrate and fat content. Low carbohydrates and fats are key to weight loss. Approximately, about 4 to 6 ounces of banana contains only 140 calories, 36 grams of carbohydrates and almost zero fat content. Eating this much amount satisfies your hunger, makes you full and checks your body weight at the same time.

The high content of Vitamin B6 in bananas helps it build our immune system. It also keeps our heart healthy for a longer time by keeping heart diseases at bay. Also, the high iron content in bananas helps people with anaemia to fight the disease.
